The actor recruits his personal trainer and stunt double to be sous-chefs in a new video.
Chris Hemsworth has played a Norse god, a mercenary, and a professional wrestler. Now he’s playing chef. In a new video on Instagram, the Thor star demonstrates how to prepare his own recipe for lamb and vegetable soup, aided in the kitchen by his two friends, personal trainer Luke Zocchi and stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton.
First Hemsworth puts some vegetable stock on to boil while he, Hanton and Zocchi dice the vegetables before adding them and the lamb to the pot. Hemsworth then browns onions and garlic in a pan before throwing them into the soup along with tomatoes, beef bone broth, and and leaving it to simmer.
“I could eat only soup forever,” he says. (The short cooking video, shared by Hanton on his Instagram account, is basically an ad for Centr, the health, fitness and wellness app that Hemsworth launched in 2019.)
Not only does the end result look like a warm and comforting meal option as the colder weather sets in, it’s also a tasty-sounding alternative to endless bro meals. One cup of cooked lamb serves up more than 30-plus grams of protein, and is a great source of iron and vitamin B12 for muscle function.
And considering Hemsworth has been eating 8 meals each day as a matter of course to maintain his jacked physique while filming Thor: Love & Thunder, it stands to reason that he would be all about variety in his diet. Although he is not above the occasional cheat day meal: he recently celebrated arriving in Los Angeles to film Extraction 2 with an epic feast of pizza, chicken wings and beer.
