This is the senior nutrition program’s noon meal menu for July. Call the Newberry Center in Fort Madison at 319-372-3147 to reserve or cancel meals 1-2 days in advance.
For individuals age 60 and older and their spouse there is a suggested contribution of $5. Individuals younger than 60 must pay the full meal charge as posted at the nutrition center unless otherwise eligible.
All meals include 8 ounces of milk, a slice of whole wheat bread and margarine. Menus provide one third of the current recommended dietary reference intake for individuals 70 and older.
Friday, July 1 – Tuna & Noodles, Four-Way Mixed Vegetables, Mandarin Oranges, Whole Wheat Bread.
Monday, July 4 – All nutrition centers will be closed for the Independence Day holiday. Contact you local center for options.
Tuesday, July 5 (Holiday Meal) – BBQ Pork on Whole Wheat Bun, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Cottage Cheese, Fruit Cup.
Wednesday, July 6 – Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Italian Blend Vegetables, Garlic Wheat Roll, Pear Crisp.
Thursday, July 7 – Tuna Salad Sandwich on Whole Wheat, Marinated Cucumbers and Tomato Salad, Potato Salad, Fruit Cup.
Monday, July 11 – Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Broccoli, Wheat Roll, Pineapple Cream Pie.
Tuesday, July 12 – Pork & Veggie Stir Fry, Lo Mein Noodles, Vegetable Egg Roll, Mandarin Beet Salad, Frosted Spice Cake.
