Prince Louis' unusual favourite vegetable is explained by proud mum Kate – The Mirror

Three-year-old Prince Louis loves one vegetable in particular, according to his mum Kate Middleton – and it’s not one you usually expect little ones to love to eat
Toddlers and vegetables don't usually go hand-in-hand – and it can be a tough job for parents to make sure their little ones are eating theirs.
But fortunately, the Duchess of Cambridge has no trouble getting her youngest child Prince Louis to eat one vegetable in particular.
Proud mum Kate once revealed that three-year-old Louis favourite vegetable is beetroot – a somewhat unusual choice for a child.
Kate made the revelation during a chat in 2019 with TV cooking sensation Mary Berry in the special TV show A Berry Royal Christmas, when explaining how the Cambridge family grow some of their own veg.
She said: “We grow our own vegetables. We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot — a massive favourite — Louis absolutely loves beetroot.”
And Mary was so impressed with Louis's choice – she then went on to show viewers how to make a beetroot and chocolate cake.
However, it's not the first time that a favourite food of the Cambridge children has been revealed.

Kate also once told of Princess Charlotte's favourite snack – and it's very unusual – olives.
She revealed her daughter's favourite food on a visit to Lavender Primary School in north London in 2019.
During the visit to the school, she also revealed that she was teaching George as well as Charlotte to cook.
She said that her children love to “make salads and stuff” as well as their signature dish, cheesy pasta.
Meanwhile, it seems that Prince George is partial to a classic Italian dish – spaghetti carbonara.
It was once revealed by his proud dad Prince William to TV chef Aldo Zilli, who told FEMAIL : "[William's] amazing – I'm waiting for the call because apparently, his little boy's favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I'm waiting for the call to go and cook it for him.
"If George has my carbonara, he will never have another one, so I need to go and make it, let's get the ball rolling, send me to the palace to cook!"
However, there is one royal who never tells anybody what her favourite food is, and that's the Queen.
And there's a rather good reason why what she likes best is kept so secret.
A royal insider explained how the Queen doesn't divulge her favourite food before travelling so that she isn't served the same thing everywhere she goes.
As reported by The Express, Gordon Rayner, former royal correspondent for The Telegraph who has covered more than 20 royal tours, said he'd discovered this fact from a royal staff member.
He said: "As one of her staff told me, ‘If she said she had a favourite meal she would never get served anything else.’"
