“Fruits and Vegetable RX” Program Aims to Help Residents Eat Better – Finger Lakes Daily News

Only one in seven adults in the Finger Lakes region consumes the recommended number of fruits per day. The Institute for Human Services reports that only one in ten Finger Lakes adults eats the recommended number of vegetables. Becky McConnell with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cayuga County explains how SNAP-Ed New York is trying to change that with its Fruits and Vegetables Prescription program.
 
McConnell says you can ask your doctor if you are interested.
 
McConnell says the program’s purpose is for residents to get into the habit of buying fresh fruits and vegetables.
