Yorktown Opens Organic Waste Yard For Season – Yorktown, NY Patch

YORKTOWN, NY — Residents of the town of Yorktown can now deliver organic yard waste to a town facility where they can help themselves to wood chips.
The Organic Yard Waste Facility, located at 2200 Greenwood St. in Yorktown, is open, weather permitting, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday until mid-November.
Town officials said the facility is available, without charge, to Yorktown residents in vehicles without commercial license plates.
Proof of residency is required.
Residents can bring their tree branches, logs (maximum size of 3 feet by 2 feet) and leaves and grass clippings. Officials said larger logs and tree stumps will not be accepted.
While there, residents can help themselves to wood chips at no cost.
