The students of Chattisgarh will now learn about organic farming and how to grow vegetables from May 3rd.
The government of Chhattisgarh is planning to promote organic farming in the state, which will involve children. The proposal will go into effect on May 3rd, which is also known as ‘Akti’. Initially, this project will focus on higher secondary schools, as well as agricultural education.
In schools, children will grow vegetables in what will be referred to as “kitchen gardens.” Their mid-day meal will include these vegetables.
Agriculture faculty can be found in 214 of the state’s upper secondary schools.
According to an official release, schools have a minimum of four acres of land available for agricultural studies.
Organic farming will be carried out in accordance with the education department’s guidelines.

The department has also requested that soil, organic seeds, vermicompost manure, and cow urine be made available.
Scientists and officers from the concerned district would be recruited to help with organic farming.
Schools may be the most effective means of spreading the concept of organic farming.
Children will be taught how to do this activity, which will help them develop an interest in organic farming. Vegetables will be cultivated in containers in urban schools where land for kitchen gardens is not available.
Green vegetables such as bitter gourd, kumhra, taroi, and gourd will be grown in pots.
According to the press release, these activities will develop children’s interest in nature and inculcate in them an awareness about protecting and preserving our environment.
