“Our sales of organic blueberries from Spain have never been so stable” – FreshPlaza.com

Banagrumes has been selling organic blueberries from Spain for three years, under the brand Bio’Select. “We work mainly with two Spanish suppliers for this product, which we offer from February until June,” explains David Machado, supplier of the company. “The last shipment of approximately 200 kilos will leave next week. Then, it will be time for the French campaign over the summer and our producer has promised a product that is certified without pesticide residue and High Environmental Value.”

A trendy and increasingly popular product
Since the company started marketing blueberries in 2016, David has observed a great development of the market. “It is clearly a trendy product that is gaining in popularity. It falls into the category of superfoods with excellent properties and it can be consumed easily as a snack. We were immediately convinced of the growth potential of this product. Throughout the campaign, sales are fluid, regular and the clientele is loyal. The consumption has never been so stable.”
Two marketing formats
Banagrumes sells organic blueberries in two different types of packaging. “Of course, we have the open cardboard tray of 125g, which fits the organic values. But we also offer our blueberries in bulk, in a packaging of 1kg. Our biggest clients for this format are the specialized stores. We try to avoid small formats, and this desire goes well with the product’s development in terms of consumption.”
