Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday launched the Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) under ‘Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) of the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation to 18,000 registered farmers under the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) at the CM Secretariat Complex.
A total of Rs 28.125 crore was released through DBT under Phase III for the period between 2020 and 2023.

With the provision to provide the direct benefit transfer of 1) Rs 3750 per farmer for on-farm input and 2) Rs 3750 per farmer for off-farms input for the first and second year to every individual registered farmers account, this assistance will provide great relief for the organic farmers of the state, the chief minister added.

The DBT shall help the registered organic farmers in sustainable organic production and improve their livelihood prospects, Singh said.
During the launch, Singh also held an interactive session with organic farmers from different parts of the state present at the function. The launching ceremony was also attended by the minister of horticulture Letpao Haokip among others.
