Minister, planning and coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs, Neiba Kronu inaugurated Zanibou organic market at Chakhesang Community Complex, Chakhesang Colony, Dimapur on Monday.
In his speech, Kronu shared the importance of time management and emphasised on tourism and farming (locally available agriculture products) in order to attract more tourists.
He said that any type of crops could be grown in the state with soil fertility and favourable climatic condition.
Considering the present road connectivity, the minister was of the opinion that in a few years’ time the people could avail more opportunities and reach the remote areas.
“We should be a job provider instead of job seeker”, he said.
Later, he unveiled the template of the market.
Meanwhile, Chotisüh Sazo, MLA in his speech exhorted the members about the contribution from past leaders towards the Chakhesang community.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by member, board of trustee, CPO Kekhwengulo Lea, Kezhienyi Khalo, MLA spoke on the occasion, CPO president Mikha Kenye delivered the introductory address while a brief concept and report was presented by convenor, board of trustee CPO, Theja Therieh and secretary, board of trustee CPO Neichute Doulo respectively.
It may be mentioned that the organic market which was launched under the initiative of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) aims to create a progressive market with consistence support from local farmers.
The market would be managed by local vegetable vendors providing direct dignified employment to around 150 people.
It also hopes to inspire people to create more such markets for local street vendors while providing organic vegetables to urban dwellers and create job avenue and economic impact linking directly from rural to urban.
